Kate Oxsen received a BA in Spanish at CSU East Bay before going on to theological studies at the Franciscan School of Theology. There she obtained a Master’s in Theological Studies with a concentration in the Old Testament. Then she moved to Dublin, Ireland, where she received a Ph.D. in Old Testament at Trinity College Dublin.

Her research interests include queenship in the Old Testament, Deuteronomistic History, and short narrative books (Esther, Ruth, Tobit, etc.). She lives in Chicago with her cat, Agnes.
