Come join the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration mission and ministry. We are seeking a full-time Discernment Office Vocation and Outreach Assistant to join our team at St. Rose Convent, the spiritual heart and administrative center of FSPA in La Crosse, WI

St. Rose Convent is home to the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration and the Mary of the Angels Chapel. As the Vocations and Outreach Assistant you would be a key member of the Discernment Office, providing administrative, organizational and outreach support to promote religious life within the mission of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. This position serves as the primary point of contact for women exploring religious life, offering a welcoming presence and guiding through the initial stages of discernment before connecting them with deeper accompaniment. The Assistant also functions as the administrative backbone of the Discernment Office, ensuring organization, communication and follow through while building relationships and expanding FSPA’s presence through outreach.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
– Respond to initial inquiries and screen discerners via phone calls, letters, mailings, emails and/or visits.
– Serve as the primary organizer for the Discernment Office, ensuring all initiatives, events and communications are executed with excellence and follow- through.
– Collaborate with the FSPA Affiliation office and Communications office to promote the FSPA charism, mission and religious life.
– Assist in arranging and coordinating details for discernment retreats, communal experiences for inquirers and applicants, such as Come and See weekends and Live-In experiences.
– Network with school and parish leadership, diocesan vocation offices and regional vocation groups.
– Proactively identify and develop new initiatives to increase awareness of religious life.

We are looking for an energetic, caring individual who has:
– Knowledge of Franciscan values, FSPA charism, mission and community life, religious life.
– General knowledge of office management at a level normally acquired through completion of related course work or through advanced education or equivalent work experience.
– Strong technological skills, including database maintenance and all components of Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn other computer programs.-
– Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Ministry, Religious Studies, or Communications or equivalent experience in communications, ministry and/or no profit work.
– Experience in event planning, project coordination or relationship management, preferred but not required.

MACC Mission: The Mexican American Catholic College’s mission is to empower and educate leaders for service in a culturally diverse Church and society by offering a biliterate, multicultural formation program that can lead to a college degree in Pastoral Ministry.

Summary: MACC invites qualified applications for the grant-funded position of Project Coordinator of Stabilitas: Renewing Rural Ministry. The coordinator will also serve as Professor of Practical Theology (open-rank), teaching two courses per semester while managing the project. This five-year grant aims to build the capacity of rural dioceses to invest in the formation of permanent deacons and lay ecclesial ministers, in partnership with Saint John’s School of Theology and Seminary (SOT/Sem).

Directly supporting the Director of the Stabilitas project at Saint John’s SOT/Sem, the principal responsibilities of the Project Coordinator include collaboration with representatives of partner dioceses, assessment of formation needs throughout the upper midwestern states, curriculum and/or program design, and assessment of best practices for ministerial accompaniment. The position requires administrative coordination, managing all subgrant budgets and activities, supporting recruitment for MACC and Saint John’s collaborative ministry formation programming, and providing annual reports to the Lilly Endowment, Inc. Seasoned experience in lay ecclesial ministry formation, and/or diaconal formation, as well as immersive ministry experience in multicultural, rural settings, is preferred.

As a faculty member, the coordinator will also teach 2 courses per semester in MACC’s core curriculum. Teaching assignments will depend on one’s area of specialization but may include Moral Theology, Catechesis, Spirituality, Pastoral Care and Mental Health Ministry, Intercultural Competencies, and/or Rural Ministry. The total teaching assignment will be no more than four courses distributed between fall and spring semesters.

Reporting directly to the Academic Dean while working closely with the Senior Director of Programs, the coordinator will advance the ecclesial mission of MACC and Saint John’s School of Theology and Seminary, contributing to the growth of their programs at a national level.

This position is grant-funded through 2030, is subject to change, and may be impacted by external factors.

Position Overview
The Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate, aka Joliet Franciscans, are seeking a part-time Justice Promoter to lead our JPIC Commission and Human Trafficking Joint Franciscan Committee. It is preferred that this position be filled by someone in the general Chicago/Joliet and surrounding areas. The Joliet Franciscans were founded and are still based in Illinois with a presence in a few other states and in Brazil. We are active members with LCWR and the Franciscan Federation. The mission of JPIC is to advance justice, peace and care of creation by prayer, study, education, collaboration and action. The promoter would be asked to carry out current JPIC work and initiate new endeavors that allow us to live our mission and to be relevant.

Essential Duties
• The Justice Promoter would
• Lead mostly by zoom both the Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation Commission and Human Trafficking Joint Franciscan Committee
• Support and manage current JPIC involvements so they are alive and growing…Hands on with some; encouragement with others
• Plan, market and lead JPIC events
• Develop new JPIC initiatives
• Use congregation communication media to promote JPIC work
• Promote awareness and involvement of sisters and associates
• At times engage the University of St. Francis and Joliet Catholic Academy and broader community
• Collaborate with other JPIC groups of other women religious congregations (JCWR)
• Collect archival material and prepare annual report for the archives
Some Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related fields; master’s degree preferred.
Work experience in the field of justice.
Comfortable with technology and working with groups

POSITION SUMMARY

The Campus Minister serves the spiritual needs of the university community through a student-centered and ecumenical approach reflecting the values of Spalding University and its Catholic identity. The Campus Minister serves as both a spiritual leader and pastoral advisor to students, faculty, and staff, planning and executing programs that foster spiritual growth, community, and service grounded in Catholic tradition.

The Campus Minister will support the overall goals of the Office of Student Affairs by providing interaction and engagement with students through inclusive program offerings catering to a diverse student body of various viewpoints and beliefs. In addition to developing student ministry experiences, the Campus Minister serves as a campus-designated confidential resource for students seeking spiritual guidance and support.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Worship and Sacramental Life

  • Plan, coordinate, and lead worship services, including weekly Mass
  • Organize prayer meetings, Bible study groups, and other prayer opportunities
  • Facilitate access to the sacraments and Catholic spiritual practices
  • Create welcoming worship experiences that honor Catholic tradition while inviting participation from the broader community

Pastoral Care and Counseling

  • Provide spiritual guidance, pastoral support, and mentorship to all members of the campus community
  • Offer confidential spiritual counseling to individuals facing personal or spiritual challenges
  • Make appropriate referrals to professional resources when needed (e.g., mental health services, academic support)
  • Serve as a bridge between students’ spiritual lives and their overall wellbeing

Program and Event Planning

  • Organize and facilitate ministry and faith-based activities and events reflecting Catholic Social Teaching
  • Lead various types of retreats to meet the needs of the diverse community
  • Coordinate mission trips and social justice activities in collaboration with the Office of Student Affairs
  • Plan and execute social events that build community and foster spiritual connection
  • Represent campus ministry at campus events

Student Leadership Development

  • Recruit, train, and mentor student leaders to help run ministry activities and build a vibrant faith community
  • Develop student ministry experiences that encourage spiritual growth and leadership skills
  • Create opportunities for students to take ownership of campus ministry initiatives
  • Support students in discerning their vocations and spiritual gifts

Community Engagement and Outreach

  • Develop and implement plans for community outreach that reflect Catholic Social Teaching
  • Foster relationships with local churches, parishes, and Catholic organizations
  • Promote interfaith dialogue and collaboration while maintaining Catholic identity
  • Represent Spalding University at appropriate professional organizations and Archdiocesan events

Administration and Operations

  • Manage all reservations, advertising, and marketing for campus ministry events
  • Develop and manage campus ministry budget in collaboration with the Director of Student Engagement
  • Coordinate volunteers and maintain program records
  • Assess the effectiveness of programs and adapt to meet evolving community needs

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry, Theology, or related field
  • Two to five years of pastoral ministry experience, preferably in campus or youth ministry settings
  • Must be a fully initiated member of the Catholic Church who nourishes her/his faith through ongoing spiritual formation and prayer
  • Deep understanding of Catholic Social Teaching and ability to apply it in contemporary contexts
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Leadership ability and experience in event planning
  • Understanding of contemporary student culture and developmental needs
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and create inclusive environments

Preferred

  • Experience in student leadership development and mentorship
  • Familiarity with interfaith dialogue and ecumenical collaboration
  • Background in counseling or pastoral care training
  • Knowledge of student development theory and best practices in student affairs

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a full-time role requiring a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends to accommodate student activities, worship services, and events. The Campus Minister works collaboratively within the Office of Student Affairs and maintains regular communication with university leadership, the Archdiocese, and campus partners.
