At CTU, formation serves as a bridge between theory and praxis. Our programs consist of monthly theological reflections or gatherings with other scholars, as well as bi-annual retreats and participation in special events.


Hispanic Theology and Ministry Program
Prepare for ministry grounded in Latino/a experiences
Since 1982, CTU has been serving the Hispanic Church of the United States by offering courses, programs and events that prepare lay and ordained ministers to work with the Latin@ Catholic community in the U.S. and around the world.
Catholic Theological Union (CTU) is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS). CTU, founded in 1968, received its initial joint accreditation from the Association of Theological Schools and the North Central Region in 1972. This accreditation was renewed in 1982, 1992, and 2002. In 2009, CTU relinquished its accreditation with the North Central Association. ATS accreditation was renewed in 2022.
