Catholic Theological Union celebrated its 56 th Annual Commencement Ceremony.

Chicago—On May 23, 2024 Catholic Theological Union celebrated its 56th Annual Commencement Ceremony. On a beautiful early-summer day, over 50 graduates received advanced degrees in theological and ministerial studies. The ceremony was presided by CTU’s President Sr. Barbara Reid, OP, Vice President and Academic Dean Rev. Ferdinand Okorie, CMF, and Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees Rev. James Baraniak, O Praem.

Honorary degrees were conferred upon Rabbi Yehiel Poupko and Mr. Eric LeCompte. Rabbi Poupko, recipient of the honorary Doctorate in Theology, is Rabbinic Scholar at the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago. He is responsible for the Jewish community’s interfaith relations with a variety of local, national, and international Protestant, Evangelical, and Catholic seminaries, churches, institutions, and leaders. Mr. Eric Le Compte, recipient of the honorary Doctorate in Ministry, is Executive Director and Executive Board Officer for Jubilee USA Network in Washington, DC. At present, he serves as Expert Working Group Member for both the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development as well as the Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights.
