As Advent draws to a close and we enter into the Christmas season, we give thanks for divine mercy showered abundantly on all God’s people throughout the ages, most especially for the gift of the Christ. Throughout the days of Advent, readings from the prophet Isaiah have sustained us. We continue to pray urgently that the suffering of our Jewish and Muslim brothers and sisters come to an end and that the dream of the prophet Isaiah that swords be beat into plowshares and spears into pruning hooks, with nations no longer raising weapons against another, never again training for war, and all creation living in peaceful harmony (Isaiah 2:4-5; 11:6) come to fulfillment.
May this Christmas season be most blessed for you and your loved ones as hope springs forth anew.
