On Sunday, May 5, CTU hundreds gathered to commemorate our 50th Anniversary with a Mass celebrated at our neighboring parish, St. Thomas the Apostle in Hyde Park. Cardinal Blase J. Cupich presided with CTU president Rev. Mark R. Francis, chancellor, Rev. Donald Senior, CP and board chair, Rev. Kurt Hartich, OFM, concelebrating.

 

Faculty, staff, Alumni and students collaborated on the memorable liturgy, which began with an outstanding organ recital by David Anderson, current MA student. During the mass, Icons of three CTU martyrs were blessed and their stories shared with all illustrating our Alumni’s dedication to the work for justice and peace.

 

Following the mass the Academic Center at CTU was named as “The Denny Center at Catholic Theological Union” in honor of Jim and Cate Denny and their family’s longstanding commitment to the mission of CTU.
