Nature and Natural Law in Judaism and Christianity
This conference will feature top scholars from across the globe, who will present papers on Jewish and Christian attitudes towards nature and the environment, nature and religious legal theory, and on Jewish and Christian perspectives toward how nature and natural law intersect with the cultural boundaries that religious communities construct. It will also include CTU’s annual Spring Shapiro lecture, which will be delivered by Dr. Christine Hayes, Robert F. and Patricia Ross Weis Professor of Religious Studies in Classical Judaica at Yale University, entitled Divine Law: A Tale of Two Concepts (and three responses).
■ The conference will begin at 9:30 am on April 20 concluding with Dr. Christine Hayes’ Spring Shapiro Lecture at 6:00 pm. It will continue on April 21 from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.
■ The conference is free and open to the public.
■ Kosher snacks and refreshments will be served prior to the event.
■ Complimentary parking in the CTU garage.
