2024 Biblical Study & Travel Program
April 25, 2024 @ 8:00 AM CT - May 11, 2024 @ 5:00 PM CT

Join the internationally renowned faculty of Catholic Theological Union for an experience in the Holy Lands of the Bible unlike any other.
You are invited to join CTU’s Biblical Study and Travel Program for a two-week tour of historical and religious sites in the Holy Land from April 25 to May 11, 2024. Professor Kate Oxsen of the Biblical Literature and Languages Department will be leading the tour.
The program is open to all. Graduate academic credit for the program is available for CTU students.
This is a two-part program: an online course followed by a two-week travel seminar:
Part One (optional online course)
Prior to the travel seminar, an online course introduces
participants to the history, geography, and archaeology
of the ancient biblical world. Students learn that
acquaintance with nonliterary sources has important
implications for our understanding of the biblical text.
This course runs in the Spring Semester: B 4308 (online)
Encountering the Bible Lands, Part A.
This course is required for students seeking graduate credit for the program.
Available for audit for non-credit seeking trip participants.
Part Two (travel seminar)
On April 25, 2023, embark on a two-week travel seminar
visiting significant archaeological and historical sites in
Israel/Palestine. Daily tours provide participants with an
opportunity to walk in the footsteps of Jesus and the early
Christians. On-site lectures integrate the archaeology and
history with the biblical text.
