Position Overview
The Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate, aka Joliet Franciscans, are seeking a part-time Justice Promoter to lead our JPIC Commission and Human Trafficking Joint Franciscan Committee. It is preferred that this position be filled by someone in the general Chicago/Joliet and surrounding areas. The Joliet Franciscans were founded and are still based in Illinois with a presence in a few other states and in Brazil. We are active members with LCWR and the Franciscan Federation. The mission of JPIC is to advance justice, peace and care of creation by prayer, study, education, collaboration and action. The promoter would be asked to carry out current JPIC work and initiate new endeavors that allow us to live our mission and to be relevant.

Essential Duties
• The Justice Promoter would
• Lead mostly by zoom both the Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation Commission and Human Trafficking Joint Franciscan Committee
• Support and manage current JPIC involvements so they are alive and growing…Hands on with some; encouragement with others
• Plan, market and lead JPIC events
• Develop new JPIC initiatives
• Use congregation communication media to promote JPIC work
• Promote awareness and involvement of sisters and associates
• At times engage the University of St. Francis and Joliet Catholic Academy and broader community
• Collaborate with other JPIC groups of other women religious congregations (JCWR)
• Collect archival material and prepare annual report for the archives
Some Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related fields; master’s degree preferred.
Work experience in the field of justice.
Comfortable with technology and working with groups
