We hope you'll mark your calendar for these Latinamente events at CTU's Academic and Conference Center, 5416 South Cornell Avenue, Chicago. Please note dates changes for the first two events in October.
October 9 (NEW date): Latino/a Movie Matinee, 4-6 p.m., sponsored by OLA
October 24 (NEW date as of 10/4/12): Semana de la Raza Lecture, 4-6 p.m., sponsored by the Hispanic Theology and Ministry Program. CTU Professor Dr. Carmen Nanko-Fernández presents "Realize(d)-ing Eschatology Latinamente: Conquest, Justice and Urban Planning."
October 27: Del Corazón a la Mesa, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., a family-friendly brunch to support and highlight the Oscar Romero Scholars. All proceeds benefit student scholarships. Tickets: $25 for adults, $12.50 for children.
October 29-November 7: Altar de los Muertos. Participate in the Hispanic tradition of remembering the dead. All are welcome to offer names, photos, and/or favorite foods of your loved ones who have passed. Place articles on altar located on 3rd floor.
November 5: Prayer Service de los Muertos, 12 noon.
December 4-13: Altar PanMaria. Let's celebrate our many different Marian images. Please bring a copy of your favorite Marian image to add to the altar located on the 3rd floor.
February 19: Latino/a Movie Matinee, 4-6 p.m., sponsored by OLA.
March 20: Romero/Chavez Celebration, 5-7 p.m., celebration and lecture.
April 26: Fiesta Primavera, 7-11 p.m., spring celebration and fundraiser for Latino/a student activities. Includes dinner, dance, and karaoke. Tickets: $20 per person.
